The illness

Anyone can develop a mental illness, even if their lives are stable and down-to-earth. There can be changes in motivation, sleep, or one’s zest for life – sometimes out of the blue, but sometimes as a response to separation, the death of someone close, or conflicts in the workplace. There may be anxieties that block one’s enthusiasm and reduce one’s self-confidence. It may become very difficult to make decisions. These changes can often quickly affect one’s private or working life – sometimes with serious consequences.

Every therapist has specific psychotherapy training, as can be seen in their CV. Whereby elements of the major psychotherapeutic schools of thought (behavioural therapy, depth psychology, analytical) are involved and may overlap.
Medicinal support may well be necessary, but is only undertaken after careful consideration and always in consultation with our patients. Those who are being treated by delegated psychologists always undergo medical treatment in consultation with a medical therapist.
We have an open mind about complementary (alternative) therapies, such as mindfulness training, acupuncture, breathing therapy, etc.

Our mission

The team at Dr. Süss’s group psychiatric practice wants to help patients get their lives back under control so that they can enjoy life.
We distinguish between the mind and the body, but consider both as a single entity. The biopsychosocial approach with which we consider every psychiatric illness means that we see people within their individual contexts: with their physical illnesses, their family- or partner-related stress situations, their character traits that give rise to interpersonal problems, their conflicts at the workplace, and their possible social isolation.

The therapy (whose costs, both for the doctor and for the delegated psychologist, are funded by the health insurance company) starts with an analysis of the problem(s) and diagnosis – on whose basis we create a treatment plan.
We principally concentrate on the strengths of our patients. We want to enhance their independence and personal responsibility.
